But this'll give y'all an idea, anyway.
"The Libertine" oil on canvas, 16x20 inches.

"The Naturalist's Wife" oil on masonite, 19.5x26.
"Naturalist" disappoints me a bit--and I probably shouldn't be posting this confession. I just had such grandiose ideas when the sketches and underpainting began. I should have done this painting the right way, and this only means that in the far-off future I'll have to paint another. It's hard to paint what's in my head--so many tiny details and motes of dust and cobwebs in the corners.
But enough of that! Yesterday we went to the zoo because the weather was sort of warm (but VERY windy).
One of my very favorite animals at our zoo is the red panda--they're wonderful no matter what part of them you're looking at.
And Esther rode a river otter. It was her first carousel ride--hard to believe.

Thanks Sandy!
i love these, the naturalists wife is so great.
Wow, I can't imagine what you really wanted "The Naturalist's Wife" to look like because I think its fabulous the way it is.
Say hi to Esther for me!
I especially like the first painting. It's so bold and luminous and the look in her eyes is somewhat frightening. Cant help but just stare at her~!
